Les Deux Alpes

Skiing In Les Deux Alpes

The range of skiing offered at this resort is impressive, boarders are particularly well catered for. The purpose built snowpark that includes rails, hips, kickers and a challenging pipe attracts snowboarders from across Europe and beyond. From this resort you can also access two dedicated boardercross courses and freeriders love the terrain park which attracts the best snowboarders in both the summer and winter months, yes you can ski in the summer. For a period in the summer there is still plenty of snow on the glaciers; the ski passes are cheaper and with fewer people on the slopes it is a great alternative time to go to Les Deux Alpes.

The resort is also a good destination for beginners, with green runs that are located close to the village and with well reviewed ski schools what better place to learn. Once the basics have been learnt you can build up your confidence and skills by taking on the longer green runs in the Les Crêtes area. Families are well catered for and will make use of the dedicated area for beginners and children. The ski schools run special classes for children aged between 6 and 12 and for those aged between 3 and 6 the kindergarten slopes are the perfect place to learn. The Babysnow club is also available for those aged between 1 and 3 so whatever the age the kids will have something to do.

There is also plenty for intermediate and advanced skiers to enjoy, La Fée valley has a good mix of red and black runs as well as giving you the chance to ski off-piste. If you like a challenge Le Diable is worth having a go on, it is the steepest and longest black run in the resort.

For cross-country skiers, there is 27kms of tracks laid out at the bottom of Valle Blanche which are free to use. If you want to access more terrain, the best option is to hire a car and drive to Villar d’Arene (takes around 30 minutes). Once there you can access a 3, 7 and 10km loop.

Accommodation In Les Deux Alpes

The standard of accommodation in the resort is generally good, there is genuinely something for every taste here. Most accommodations are self-catered with fully functioning kitchens - most people choose these options as they're such good value. However, we do have a range of accommodations here available half-board with meals served in local restaurants, as well a 3* hotel available full-board or all-inclusive.

Apres Ski In Les Deux Alpes

There are plenty of other activities for you to enjoy. The fact that there are dozens of bars, restaurants and clubs in the resort means you are bound to find a venue that works for you. There are lots of lively sports bars, like Smokey’s, but also some nice quiet places like the Secret Bar for those who mainly want to chill and chat. Although you do need to bear in mind that all of the bars get noisy as they fill up. If you want a quiet drink, you will need to go out relatively early.

Food wise, all tastes are catered for, but the emphasis is definitely on French cuisine. However, you can get everything from Haute Cuisine to crepes. If you fancy something simple like a burger, The Spot is a good place to go. For other cuisines like Indian, Thai and Chinese, the Globe Trotter is a good option.

Even if you do not like skiing much, you will not be bored in this resort. There is an ice rink, a beautiful outdoor heated pool, a large indoor pool, a cinema, a bowling alley, archery, an indoor climbing wall, mountain biking, mini golf, paintballing, snow shoe walks, ice cave tours and other leisure activities for you to enjoy.

If you are an adrenaline junkie why not go paragliding, kayaking, canyoning, sledging, tobogganing or canoeing. At certain times of the year, you can get a great view of the mountains from a hot air balloon or helicopter.
