Méribel

Ski Holidays In Méribel

Méribel is a wonderful ski destination, close to Courchevel, Val Thorens and La Tania and part of the biggest and best ski areas in the world Les Trois Vallées (The Three Valleys).

This resort is a very lively place with a great atmosphere, that attracts an eclectic mix of people that are all there to have a good time. A combination that makes Méribel a great place to stay and the apres ski particularly good. The fact that the resort is regarded as a luxury destination also means that it is a great place for boutiques and shopping.

Skiing In Méribel

If you have young children, Méribel is a surprisingly good destination. In 2015/16, two new beginner’s areas were opened in the at Méribel-Mottaret area, so you get access to the very best learning experience.

For intermediate skiers Méribel is great, there is a good selection of green, blue and red runs available in and around the village. If you buy The 3 Valleys lift pass you also get access to 329 runs that cover 600kms. You can also enjoy the area’s 130kms of cross-country trails. The off piste skiing is particularly good here, there is a range of powder ski runs to enjoy including some that are ideal for those who have never skied in this way before. Many of the ski schools in the area offer off piste lessons for those intermediate skiers who want to take the next step and learn new skills.

The Moonpark offers snowboarders of all levels the chance to enjoy their sport. For those looking for a bit more of a challenge the DC Area 43 Park is also available. This terrain run is 1,200m long, and includes airbags, rails and a great mini-skate ramp. For children, there is the P’tit Moon snowpark, which provides a mini boardercross experience. If you want to try something different, the Freakstyle classes offered by the Magic in Motion ski school are well worth trying.
If you are a bit more adventurous, there is powder skiing and heli-skiing available to try.

Accommodation In Méribel

There is self-catering accommodation available in, and near the village. For families, apartments offer a good standard of accommodation for a very reasonable price; we have some great deals on these.

Many of them are located in the centre of the village, so they are close to the free buses that take you to the slopes. Not all of the chalets and self-catering apartments are modern, but they do have the mod cons and features that you would expect.
For large family/friend groups a chalet is perhaps a better option, there are plenty of 2 to 12 bedroom chalets available through us.
Apres Ski In Méribel

If you enjoy the après ski as much as the skiing, Méribel would always be a great choice, you will never be short of something to do in this resort. Whether you are looking for fine dining, or cocktails, or to watch the match, to have a dance in a nightclub, you can do it all in Méribel.

The famous La Folie Douce is a popular afternoon destination after you have had enough of skiing for the day. Le Rond Point is the place to go if you want live music and a party atmosphere. Elsewhere for sports fans, Jack’s is the place to hang out.

The majority of the most popular restaurants in Méribel are on the expensive side, which reflects the fact that it is still a luxury resort. Amongst the best are La Briz Olee, which serves French cuisine and Le Clos Bernard that is famous for it’s European meals. For simpler meals and pub food the Evolution Bar and Scott’s Bar are good places to check out.

As already mentioned Méribel is great for those who love to shop. Many of the resorts shops sell designer labels, but there is still plenty available for those who are on tighter budgets. The twice-weekly market is particularly popular, and well worth a visit if you get the chance. Even if you are a non-skier, you can still enjoy yourself in Méribel, there is just so much to do. The Olympic sports centre offers ten pin bowling, a climbing wall, ice skating and a beautiful swimming pool. You could possibly buy a pedestrian lift pass and take a winter walk up in the mountains
